1,000 feet on Sonoma Mountain, The rocky volcanic soils of Panther Ridge have made for a slow start to vines, but add more vigor the wines produced are nuanced and complex, with full body and earthiness obtained by the struggle. Calera clone produces flowery, fruity wines while 115 provides structure and depth. Together they combine to create and elegant, full-bodied wine with ripe red fruit and earthy undertones.
The 2022 Weir Vineyard Pinot Noir has a bouquet of raspberry, dark cherry, licorice, thyme and notes of spicy cardamom and chaparral on a hot day (a little cedar, a little bay). 200 cases produced.
